Dr. Victoria Holmes

Dr. Victoria Holmes

Dr Victoria Holmes is a leading Health Psychologist with whom I have worked with for over ten years. Victoria’s skill is the ability to look at a complex situation and distil it down into more manageable parts. Victoria has an MSc in Work Design and Ergonomics including aspects of occupational psychology which is an invaluable addition to the team. Although based in Nevada Victoria is still writing for publication in the areas of psychology, addictive behaviours and health sociology.

Paul Battersby

Paul Battersby

Paul Battersby is a great addition to the team as an associate as he has an excellent overview of how health can impact directly on performance. As a sport therapist with high level football and rugby teams and players Paul can offer a unique insight into how areas such as nutrition can play a part in cognitive performance.

Paul joined the army after leaving school and became a physical training instructor. Whilst in this role Paul soon found a passion for physiotherapy. After leaving the army Paul studied for a Diploma in sports therapy. Since then he has worked for several amateur sports clubs in and around the North West as well as running a private practice. He has lectured for the MOD and in both the Higher and Further Education sectors, teaching Physical Education, Sports Therapy, Massage and Acupuncture.

Paul completed an honours degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Salford University and has been practising Acupuncture for over fifteen years. He was a Senior Lecturer at Glyndwr University in Wrexham, lecturing in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Complementary Therapies. While Paul is fully conversant with using a wide range of traditional Chinese practices, his passion is using acupuncture for pain control by providing natural pain relief.

Having joined the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), he became the AACP North Wales Regional Representative and in 2010 joined the AACP Board as a director. Paul is also an advanced AACP member and a Tutor and is very passionate about promoting Acupuncture and developing the profession with particular interest in supervision and mentoring. In July 2014 Paul was elected as the Vice President of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and shortly after became President of the FHT in 2016.
