About this programme

This programme provides the candidate with the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the practice, theory and research of coaching and mentoring.
Where most coaching and mentoring programmes rely heavily on a counselling type approach, this programme is underpinned by Psychological theory and practice and entails a bended learning approach with a balance of theoretical and practical content.

This programme is designed in line with the National Occupational Standards for Coaching and Mentoring, Federation of Holistic Therapies guidelines and the Association for Coaching competency framework. This programme will enable candidates to become effective coaches and mentors in a variety of settings with a diverse client background

Coaching and Mentoring Courses

Coaching is an effective way to help individuals reach their full potential and improve their performance be that at work, in sport or in their personal life. One barrier however to improved performance is the lack of motivation.

Using coaching psychology focusing on the de Prez TEAM model of challenge, individuals, teams and organizations can learn the importance of challenge as a motivational factor and use this knowledge practically to help them set realistic goals and be successful at completing these challenges.

About These Courses

  • They are underpinned by Psychological theory and practice and entail a blended learning approach with a balance of theoretical and practical content

     

  • They are designed in line with the National Occupational Standards for Coaching and Mentoring, Federation of Holistic Therapies guidelines and the Association for Coaching competency framework.

     

  • The one day course will introduce candidates to the basics of coaching, the two day course is suitable for those with a basic understanding of coaching already, and the five day course develops further the skills required for candidates to become effective coaches and mentors in a variety of settings with a diversity of employees

     

  • The ten day diploma course provides the candidate with the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the practise, theory and research of coaching and mentoring and will enable candidates to become effective coaches and mentors in a variety of settings with diverse client background. (To contribute to membership of the FHT, candidates are required to have achieved a level 3 Therapy qualification to entry).
